3/24/2020 0 Comments March network meetingTuesday 3rd March brought around our regular monthly network meeting at The White Horse on Chester Racecourse. Once again it was a great turnout, with faces old and new around the table. Our co-founder Julie Flower (www.peaceful-minds.co.uk) began the meeting in her usual bright and breezy fashion by welcoming one and all and reiterating the purpose behind Conscious Connections - who we seek to include and who we are looking to provide networking and support for. Everyone then introduced themselves and their particular interests and modalities and some really interesting subjects came up. You meet someone over a period of months and think you’re getting to know them when – POW!! A whole new side of them and new talents emerge before you!! One of our guests – Stacey Morrison – talked about her general day-to-day life as a care worker and full-time single Mum, then revealed that she’s an artist and photographer in her ‘spare’ time and how practising her art brings her such great joy. Anne Archer (@annearcherholistichealth) interjected and told us about her experience at an art class where her emotions flowed onto paper and created a work that told a complete biographical story – fascinating stuff! Stacey gave us permission to post some of her work here and its quality is astounding!! Leih Steggall talked about the healing modalities that she’s trained in and told us that she’s in the process of fitting out her therapy room, with a view to starting her business in the next few months – good luck Leih and we’re here for you! One of our regular attendees, John David Kirby of the Liverpool Wellbeing Centre (www.liverpoolwellbeingcentre.org.uk) then talked about his recent activities involving Kirtan – a form of religious performance art, connoting a musical form of narration or shared recitation of spiritual ideas. He also recently hosted his guru Amma’s Sat Sang which he described as ’eventful!’ Their next Vortex Healing Circle will take place this coming Monday 9th March at Rodney Street and they also have an event on Sunday March 15th called ‘Holistic Liverpool - Living An Abundant Life’ when their guest speaker will be Rachel Elnaugh of ‘Dragon’s Den’ fame – ‘From Dragon’s Den To Business Zen.’ Tickets are available from Eventbrite. Hazel King then spoke about her experiences with Reiki, EFT and Access Consciousness, but following on from Stacey she then talked about her love of art, design and ceramics and her hopes for possibly starting a business one day in those disciplines. By way of demonstration she showed the group a beautiful silver elephant bracelet that she’d designed and had produced, which was absolutely beautiful – picture attached here. Next up was Anne Archer who has a shared interest and past life in glass, ceramics and jewellery design, her first career being in jewellery manufacturing. Her daughter was born with learning difficulties, which ultimately led Anne to meeting a BodyTalk Practitioner whose work proved to be so positive that Anne took up training in this modality and became the qualified Practitioner that she is today. One of our new attendees, Caroline Swailes, then introduced herself to the group. Caroline has positive experiences of BodyTalk and has also trained in Reiki to Level 2. Today she’s a busy Mum and has a number of business interests including acting as a business communications consultant and running an Air B ‘n’ B property business in Chester – www.stayinchester.biz. Caroline is also setting up an operation to support new Mums through the immediate aftermath of childbirth, helping them to regain their own identities and to provide much-needed support to each other. Called ‘The Mummy Tummy Tribe,’ more details are available from their website at www.mummytummytribe.com. Another regular attendee, Nicola Wagstaff (www.inspire-rewire.com) then took us through her journey, from Corporate life in Dubai, via burnout to her happiness now, helping people being her absolute passion. Her upcoming events include her ‘Pressing Pause’ retreat in Trigonos later this month at which Julie and Phil are contributing, then her ‘Me-time’ Festival at Cheshire View on 28th June. We were then given a fascinating talk by our guest speaker Karen Hemmings of The Healing Mind (www.thehealingmind.co.uk). Karen told us about her childhood experiences with contacting the spirit world, including an amazing Ouija board attempt to contact John Lennon in the afterlife. She described her life and career, working in recruitment before also suffering burnout and then managing an addiction centre in Rodney Street. She has now started The Healing Mind and is working on blending therapies together, describing a particularly interesting case study with a client suffering from depression. We all wish Karen the greatest of good luck in her new venture and feel sure of its success with her talents, her kindness and her broad experience.
